Recently a group of former Marching Eagles met to discuss and reminisce about a woman who touched all of their lives as well as countless others. After much storytelling, the "Friends of Miss D" was formed. The goal of this group is to give back to this woman who gave so much to Jasper County's Schools and students.

    Carolyn Domineck, known to all of us as Miss D, now resides at Newton Rest Haven nursing home. She suffers from a rare form of dementia and is in the advanced stages. In order to supply her with needed personal items and to complete plans for a scholarship in her name, the "Friends of Miss D" are appealing to all those who knew and loved her.
